Halwill FC

Morning all

It's another wet and windy day in Devon but that didnt stop us

We travelled to Halwill FC to capture photographs of their ground. Twelve miles from the nearest small town nestled in the countryside, but can boast having a Ladies team along side the Men’s team.

It's tiny but pictuesque

There isn’t much in the way of seating around the ground apart from three park benches and three slabs of wood for people to sit on. (unlike Polperro, which now sets the standard for seating). The very quaint and minimalist ‘stands’ create an image in my mind of the old men that probably sat on the bench every other Saturday during the season for the last 20 years or more, shouting, encouraging and no doubt not so encouraging comments at the team.

All the parts of the field will have experienced a lot of action over the years. I particularly like this low angled shot of the pitch, it almost creates a viewpoint of a foot or the ball and what it could potentially see.

Hopefully we will be able to return and watch some action. Today however, we are back to Lifton as we have a home game against Tintagel (we won 7-1 at their place in September).

Enjoy your weekend sport, we will have a podcast up in the next day or so discussing this weekends results.

and as if by magic the podcast is now available by clicking here
